Maxed AI

Max's fitness creator app already had paying users. We audited it, fixed billing, and set it up to keep growing.

Melt Studio audited and stabilized Maxed AI — a subscription app where fitness creators sell workout programs — as part of its pro-bono prototype program: security fixes, billing and paywall repairs, and a production-ready engineering foundation, so founder Max Hirsch could keep growing on a product that holds up.

Maxed AI: a subscription app for fitness creators

Max Hirsch built Maxed AI as "Substack for lifting": fitness influencers publish workout programs, and their followers pay a subscription to train with them in a mobile app. Max built the product himself, fast, with AI coding tools, and it worked. When he joined the program, Maxed AI had more than 750 users, paying subscribers, and bigger creators getting ready to launch.

The challenge: paying users on a product that had to hold up as it grew

A product that already charges customers has a different job than a prototype: every broken payment or failed cancellation costs revenue and trust. With larger creator launches coming, Max needed the app to be secure, billing to work every time, and a foundation other engineers could build on — while he stayed focused on creators and growth.

The solution: audit first, then fix what protects revenue

Instead of adding features, we started with a technical and security audit, and let its findings set the order of work:

  • Security: removed exposed credentials from the codebase and closed the vulnerabilities the audit found.

  • Billing and paywall: fixed subscription cancellation, the paywall, and the free-trial flow ahead of a major creator launch.

  • A production-ready foundation: separate development and production environments, automated deployments, automated quality checks and tests, error monitoring with Sentry, and documented architecture.

  • A path for what's next: the migration to Melt's Startup Starter Kit was prepared and handed over, ready for the next phase.

New features like a creator analytics dashboard went to the Phase 2 roadmap, so this phase could protect what was already earning.

How a dedicated team worked sprint by sprint

A developer, a DevOps engineer, a designer, a project manager, and our CTO, with planning every Monday and a demo every Friday. Each week's priorities came from the audit and from what Max's upcoming creator launches needed.

Results: 34 user stories, a stable billing flow, and a production foundation

  • 4 key features and 34 user stories delivered; the backlog cut to 4 remaining stories.

  • Security and billing issues fixed before a major creator launch.

  • Development and production separated, with automated deployments, tests, and monitoring.

  • A Phase 2 roadmap: Spanish localization, an upgraded voice-logging engine, and marketing attribution.

Already have paying users, and need the product underneath them to hold up? That's the gap we fill.
